Letter From Brad HarrisI am extremely proud and honored to be Region 8's new JO Chairman. I must say however, that I begin my term with a terribly saddened heart. In June, at Region 8 Congress in Atlanta, I was approached by Tim & Toni Rand and notified of Tim's intention of running for the J.O. position due to the fact they both had knowledge of my nomination and desire to volunteer for the chairmanship. I immediately felt, that if Tim wanted the job, he had earned that right and deserved it. At that point I declined my nomination and swore my support to Tim. With the recent passing of Mr. Rand I felt a strong obligation to honor the memory of one of my true mentors and the calling of those who nominated me in the first place. Region 8 Junior Olympic Chairman ResultsCongratulations to Brad Harris of Tampa Bay Tuners, Tampa Bay, Florida. Brad was elected by acclamation. Brad’s term begins immediately. Deb Walls and Toni Rand were nominated but each respectively declined the nomination. 2007 Region 8: 9/10 Training CampTim RandTim Rand passed away Monday, August 20th at 1:00 A.M. Our HOPES Program last year was a huge success and we continue to have lots of questions and interest in it throughout the "off season". Because of this, we (actually Chris Burdette on our committee did all the graphics and hard work) have produced a brochure with all the information, scores, etc. needed to answer any and all HOPES questions.
